Located on the grounds of Sonny’s Bono’s eponymous Palm Springs restaurant, 64 @ the Riv showcases 64 luxury condominium residences built around a shimmering central pool, a terraced a palo verde’d dog park—a Palm Springs must, of course—contoured angles, and butterly-esque roofs all add to the mystique of what lies behind the high hedges and tall gates of this resort-infused community.
The community includes two floor plans, the first includes 1,226 square feet of interior space, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and includes two variations: one with an elevated entrance and balconies above, the other with massive patios below. This model, especially the ground floor units, allow for a wonderfully separate, yet together approach to spatial planning and the division and decoration of houses; the large great room spans the center of the house, creating two separate and distinct master suites on either end of the home, making this the perfect floor plan for a pied-à-terre, where you and your chosen guests can flit in and out, perhaps enjoying the night together, perhaps not—this floor plan allows for it all.
Similarly, the 1,501 square foot, 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom floor plan reveals two separate and distinct master suites, this time separated by the home’s powder room and utility areas. As this plan is roughly 300 square feet larger than the previous model, I am very interested in how this increase in size may affect how light and air travel through the kitchen and dining room spaces of the home, as they are tucked at the center of each unit, lining the center of their respective buildings. As such, I could see myself always having the drapes open wide, or perhaps investing in the lightest of sheer curtains if quarters were a tad too close. Yet, over all, this is a delightful plan that capitalizes on interior space, rather than exterior spaces as seen in the previous home.
